Australian time zone post planner
Choose a date and a posting time in one state, and see what time it is everywhere else in Australia, with daylight saving worked out for that date.
Why it’s needed
Australia runs on three standard time zones, and only some states use daylight saving. From the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April there are five different clock times across the country at once. A post scheduled for 7pm in Melbourne lands at 6pm in Brisbane and 4pm in Perth.
How to use it
- Pick the date you plan to post. The date matters, because daylight saving changes the gaps.
- Pick the time in the zone your scheduling app uses (often your own).
- Read off the other states. If your key audience is somewhere else, adjust until their time looks right.
Rules of thumb
- National audience: east-coast evening (7–8:30pm Sydney time) is usually the best single slot.
- West Australian audience: post on Perth time, or late evening on the east coast.
- Queensland: no daylight saving, so in summer it’s an hour behind Sydney and Melbourne.
For what to post at those times, see the guides to Instagram and TikTok posting times.
